What happens on July 10 (the day after launch)

Everyone talks about launch day. Fewer people talk about the day after.

July 10 is the day the launch stops being visible + the real work begins.

Here's what our July 10 will look like — planned in advance so we're not scrambling.

Morning: the first customer follow-ups

By 8 AM Bangalore time on July 10, we'll have Thursday's signup data.

Roughly 200-500 people (best guess) will have signed up over launch day.

First 4 hours of July 10:

Every signup gets a personal welcome email from me or Ruban. Not automated. Actual first-name-personalized notes.

Prioritized order: → Anyone with a company email suggesting real business intent (highest priority) → Anyone who left context about their use case → Anyone who commented on the PH thread AND signed up → Everyone else, in signup order

Personal outreach on Day 2 is one of the highest-conversion actions we can take. Nobody expects it. Everyone appreciates it.

Midday: the PH thread continues

Product Hunt threads don't close after 24 hours. Comments continue for days, sometimes weeks.

On July 10, I'll spend 2-3 hours replying to every remaining comment. Same care as launch day. Some late comments come from people who saw us during launch but couldn't engage until they had time.

Late responses often surface real prospects who need more consideration than a launch-day comment allows.

Early afternoon: the metrics debrief

At 2 PM Bangalore time, the team convenes for a 60-minute post-launch metrics debrief.

Structured agenda: → What went right (5 min) → What went wrong (10 min) → What we didn't expect (10 min) → What the numbers actually tell us (15 min) → Adjustments to Week 1 plan (15 min) → Team energy check (5 min)

Not a celebration meeting. A learning meeting.

Afternoon: press follow-up (if applicable)

If any press coverage landed on launch day, July 10 is when we follow up: → Thank the writers who covered us → Answer any follow-up questions from outlets that reached out during launch → Offer to do interviews for outlets that want to write "reflection" pieces post-launch

Some of the best press coverage comes 3-7 days AFTER launch, not on launch day itself.

Late afternoon: customer support triage

By late afternoon, we'll have accumulated support tickets from Thursday's signups.

Priority triage: → Bugs that broke someone's first-agent-configured flow (P0) → Onboarding confusion (P1) → Feature requests (P2 — logged, not addressed) → General "how do I do X" questions (P1 — answered personally)

If we've done launch prep right, this is a manageable stream. If we haven't, this is where launch damage compounds.

Evening: personal check-in with team

At 6 PM Bangalore time, I'll check in with each team member individually. 10 min per person.

Questions: → How are you? (Not "how did launch go?" — how are YOU?) → Do you need Friday off? → What surprised you about yesterday? → What do you need from me this week?

Team health matters more Friday than any other day. Founders who skip this check-in end up losing team members over the following month.

Night: sleep

I plan to be in bed by 10 PM Bangalore time on July 10.

Launch adrenaline extends into the day after. Then it crashes. Whatever energy the launch used, the crash uses more.

Better sleep on Day 2 than pushing through into Day 3.

The Week 1 plan (July 10-16)

Beyond July 10 specifically, the first post-launch week:

Monday July 13: → Deep customer cohort analysis — who's the most engaged Day 4? → First follow-up email to signups who haven't returned since launch → Content push: "Reflection on our launch" post + related threads

Tuesday July 14: → Post-launch retrospective (internal, not public) meeting → Investor updates — what actually happened (many will ask) → Prospect follow-ups from launch-day sales conversations

Wednesday July 15: → Feature-request review from Week 1 tickets → Roadmap adjustment based on real customer feedback → Second wave of press outreach — post-launch reflection angle

Thursday July 16 (one week post-launch): → Week 1 numbers publicly shared (per our commitment to transparency) → Team retrospective — what did we learn about ourselves? → Look ahead to Week 2 focus

What we're NOT doing July 10-16

Just as important:

→ NOT chasing viral moments from launch day → NOT trying to game post-launch PH rankings → NOT taking meetings with anyone we don't already know we want to talk to → NOT making product changes based on single-user feedback → NOT letting Friday become "recovery Friday" that becomes "recovery week"

Week 1 discipline matters more than launch day discipline.

Why we're planning this in advance

Post-launch scramble is a common failure mode. Founders don't plan July 10 because they can't imagine past July 9.

Then July 10 arrives, adrenaline drops, and the week dissolves into ad-hoc reactive work. Customers slip through cracks. Team burnout compounds. Momentum decays.

Planning July 10 in advance means: → Every team member knows what to do at 9 AM Friday → Customer follow-ups happen on schedule, not "when we get to it" → Metrics debrief happens with structure, not chaos → Team check-ins prevent silent burnout

For founders

Two pieces of advice from where I'm sitting T-3:

1. Plan Day 2 as carefully as Day 1.

Your launch will produce more Day-2 signups than you expect. If you're not ready to handle them, they'll churn silently.

2. Force yourself to rest.

Adrenaline lies. You'll want to keep pushing on July 10. Discipline required to actually take the break.

The founders who last are the ones who protect their energy for Week 2 and Week 3, not just Week 1.

The bigger picture

July 9 is a moment. July 10 through August 9 is when we find out if the launch became momentum or a peak.

Weeks 1-4 post-launch determine: → Which signups actually become customers → Which press coverage generates lasting interest → Whether investor conversations convert → Whether the team stays healthy → Whether we can maintain the content + engagement rhythm

Launch day is the easy part. What comes after is the harder part.

We planned July 10 today so we're not scrambling Thursday night.
