Manage your subscription

2 min · 5 steps

Upgrade, downgrade, cancel, swap payment methods, or pay a failed invoice. All billing flows go through Stripe Customer Portal.

Avery uses Stripe for billing. Once you've upgraded to Pro or Enterprise, all subscription management — invoices, payment methods, cancellation, plan changes — happens in the Stripe Customer Portal. The desktop links you straight there.

Steps

  1. Open the central dashboard.

Sign in on the web with the same account you used on the desktop. The dashboard has a Plan + billing card with a 'Manage subscription' button that opens the Stripe portal.

    Open the dashboard →

  2. Pick your action in the Stripe portal.

From the portal you can: change plan (upgrade Free → Pro, or Pro → Enterprise contact form), update payment method, view + download invoices, pay a failed invoice, or cancel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep Pro features until then.

  3. Wait for the desktop to pick up the new tier.

The desktop refreshes its license JWT every 30 minutes from central. After a tier change, the next refresh applies the new tier — Pro features lock or unlock at the next render. To force an immediate refresh, open Settings → Service → Account and click Refresh.

    Open Account settings →

  4. Refunds + cooling-off period.

First-time subscribers can request a refund within 14 days — email support@avery.software with your account email and the invoice id. Renewals are not automatically refundable; cancel before the renewal date if you don't want to be billed again.

  5. Failed invoice / dunning.

If a payment fails, Stripe retries automatically over a few days. Until it succeeds, your account drops to a 30-day offline grace window — Pro features keep working but the status strip warns you. After 30 days the license downgrades to Free. Update your card in the Stripe portal to avoid this.
